The adult moths of this species are brown with a subterminal arc of dark dots.

This species is found only in the north of Queensland.

A specimen was originally collected on Cook's voyage, and previously it had been assumed it was taken at Botany Bay. But later examination of the label showed it was taken in the north. The southern species is now called Pararguda nasuta.
