This Caterpillar feeds on the flowers and developing fruit of :
The Caterpillar was introduced deliberately in 1914 into Australia to try to control this weed.
The adult moth is brown with light and dark patches on the fore wings, and a fringe of hairs along the back of each hind wing. The moth has a wingspan of about 1.5 cms. It is a native to Mexico, but was introduced into Hawaii to try to control the Lantana there. The species is now also well established in New South Wales and Queensland.
