Adoxophyes templana

These caterpillars have been found feeding on:

  • Red Mangrove ( Rhizophora stylosa, RHIZOPHORACEAE ),
  • River Mangrove ( Aegiceras corniculatum, MYRSINACEAE ),
  • Milky Mangrove ( Excoecaria agallocha, EUPHORBIACEAE ),
  • Blue Paperbark ( Melaleuca dealbata, MYRTACEAE ), and
  • Broad-leaved Paperbark ( Melaleuca quinquenervia, MYRTACEAE ).

    The adult moth of this species has forewings that are pale brown with irregular variable broad dark brown lines across them. The wingspan is about 1.5 cms.

    The species occurs in Australia in:

  • Queensland.
