This Caterpillar feeds on the seeds of various PROTEACEAE, including:

  • Yellow Needlebush ( Hakea nodosa ), and
  • Bushy Needlebush ( Hakea sericea ).

The adult moth has white forewings, with a black stripe along the costa. The hindwings are plain white. It has a wingspan of about 1 cm.

The species has been imported into South Africa in an attempt to control weed infestations of Hakea sericea.
